A Fist Full Of Cowboys
Clint’s eight-year-old brother, Johnny, wants to play pretend forever. After wishing on a star for a world of only cowboy. It looks like he’ll get his way.
our design pillars!
I found out I was going to be lead on this project about two weeks into development when the other writers said, “Hey man, you really are like the lead of this project” and I said…”Okay?”
We were all working on a FISTFUL of other projects at the time so the objective was to make something short, whimsical and fun. This was done so working on it would feel like a break.
Our concept was to make a Shin Megami Tensei demon talk game but with cowboys instead of demons. It had to be short, which meant the plot should be something that can bend to convenience. We wanted it to feel like a full thing even though it was short and made very quickly by very talented, but very tired writers.
The side-side-side project.
Lotta cowboys…
Another lesson in scale. We originally intended to have 5 worlds each with 6 cowboys to collect, themed around different toysets the boys would have had. These of course would be themed as “western” in a way that kids theme their toys around their obsessions. We ended with 2 worlds and 12 cowboys. Not bad I would say.
